While a trowel-grade epoxy coating is really durable, urethane concrete (also called urethane cement) is even tougher. That’s because it employs urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when one hundred percent cured has the flexibility of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. The thickness of urethane concrete coatings may also be stretched to limits not reachable with ordinary epoxy coatings, and the material retains its ability to be shaped for use with beveled and coved floors.
